Introduction
Hi All,
I'm relatively new to using LinuxForums (tho have been registered for a while) and wanted to say hi.
I'm located in Melbourne, Australia.
I've got a big background in Linux, working with Redhat back in the days of RH4 (cant remember exactly when, but perhaps just prior to or just after y2k, and I must admit I was very much a beginner back then however took much joy in splatting bill gates in one of the games RH came bundled with), and i've worked with many different flavours of linux since. I dont use it on my desktop machines as the nature of my work demands windows
, however I do use linux for load balancing, servers, service & system monitoring, firewalls, scripting etc. I have a good knowledge of Debian & RH based distros, all of my servers are CLI boxes, with some even being hooked up to a serial console as opposed to your conventional keyboard/mouse.
I hope I can be of some help to some users, as I know starting out can be a very daunting task on your own, and often finding support can be somewhat difficult.
Cheers,
Josh

I found this thread and thought it would be a good place to jump in, no point creating a new thread. New to the forum and new to linux sorta. I had a SUSE system I setup before but too never got a solid hand on using it. Starting again, this time with an Eee Box (which is not bad so far) replacing the red flag distro now. Anyway I'll be in northern Alabama soon and going to put up a LUG flag and see if I can find other users or invite new users. I like the free as in speech part of linux and have been interested for a long time. I'll be reading please be ready for odd ball questions, but I will use the advise given.
