I've been using Chromium from the Ubuntu PPAs for a few months. If I had Firefox extensions I'd be completely sold. It surprised me how nice it was and it certainly is fast anyway.

Fair play to them, for each of the evil things they do Google sure throw a few open things out for free.

I ran Chromium daily builds for awhile. I waited though till Google Chrome came out with a Stable Linux Version before installing something else than Chromium. It works fast. Picked up my Java Install/ Imported my Iceape 2.0.4 bookmarks.html. Picked up my flash.

I use it as a backup for Iceape browser which I like better actually.

    If I had Firefox extensions
I just installed Adthwarts extension. It works pretty good as a google chrome extension for blocking ads. Even the text based ads on this forum. Just started running this today so still to new to see what is what. Noticed a ton of new extensions though. It might get better
    as time goes on maybe.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I've tried Chromium and Chrome a number of times but can never really get into it, I think because of several extensions that don't work with it like they do with Firefox, but I'll keep trying it now and then to see if the situation changes. I do like the idea of the added speed that it brings to the desktop.

Chrome's got too many dependencies for me to take a liking to it... but I tried out Firefox 3.7 the other day, and that was seriously fast
