I agree. I've never had a single problem out of an M$ piece of hardware.

Even if they are using another company (someone posted that Logitech was OEMing the stuff), a mouse or a keyboard is a lot less complex than an OS.

Also, I may be mistaken, but I believe Microsoft invented the scroll-wheel and tilt-wheel mouse. Same statement applies -- getting a rollerwheel to work is far less complex than getting a million-plus lines of code to interact without barfing. Especially with the totally crappy in-house development processes that Microsoft uses.

Just to play devil's advocate here: I have a college friend who works for Microsoft, and he says the company has become so huge that each division is really like its own little kingdom. It's entirely possible for one section of Microsoft (hardware, or Xbox) to do excellent work while another division (OS, or Office) completely screws the pooch.

I'm surprised when the Supreme Court ruled them a monopoly they didn't split up the company like they did the Bells. It might have actually been better for their products in the long run.

Now that you mentioned it, I'm wondering who's palms got greased to stop the break-up?

The best bit about this story was the spokesperson from Sophos who compared running Windows and Linux to taking a holiday in Baghdad or Bournemouth. "You could come to a sticky end in either but I know where I'd go to be safe"

That's right, Sophos compared running Windows to holidaying in Baghdad!

    Marvellous!
