SCO: Final judgment!
Groklaw - Stewart Rules: Novell Wins! CASE CLOSED!
It seems Novell has prevailed over SCO, finally. I wonder how many millions/billions of dollars were wasted here. If IBM wanted to, they could sink the SCO ship into oblivion right now.The door has slammed shut on the SCO litigation machineI do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

Good grief...
I thought that case would be going on for the next decade!
How do you think poor Darl took the news?

Well, I sure hope this fiasco is over for good, and that the door is closed super tightly because it seems that they always find a way to wiggle around it, over it, or under it each time that it gets closed. Now I hope that Linux fans won't ever have any problems with Novell down the road, now that they've won their case.

HAHA, I'm sure he is petitioning the Supreme court as we speak. If there is a top 10 most hated by Linux users, I'm sure he'd be at or very near the top.
Agreed! One thing you can say about SCO, they are persistent and very conniving, I wouldn't put it past them to find another way to get their slimy foot into another door. I'd like to see IBM send the Nazgūl to put their boots on SCO's throat while they are gasping for air.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

So, apparently IBM v SCO will not proceed like I had hoped. I was reading Ars Technica and found a pretty cool article.
SCOwned: no new trial, Novell can shut down IBM lawsuit
In it, I quote this line.
It's probably in the first link I posted as well, but I guess the blood of SCO had me looking for the kill. Man, I want these guys gone so I can go back to worrying about the other Linux mortal enemy! The ruling almost certainly means that SCO v. IBM will never go to trial. Without ownership of the UNIX copyrights, SCO has no legal standing to bring copyright and misuse of IP claims."The Court finds that Novell had the authority under Section 4.16(b) of the APA to direct SCO to waive its claims against these SVRX licensees, that Novell had the authority to waive such claims on SCOs behalf, and that SCO was obligated to recognize such waivers," wrote the judge.
BTW, I like the title of the ars article: SCOwned! That's awesome.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

Well, "Poor" Daryl was let go last year... and good riddance! It is largely because of him that SCO is going down the tubes. They were well-positioned to be a major player in the internet and cloud server business, but no, they had to antagonize every Unix/Linux developer out there.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
