    Introducing Myself.

Greetings from Western Canada. As of today at 8pm Pacific time, I officially became a Linux user. I'm using Debian 5 and so far, I'm fairly pleased. I finally got sick and tired of bloody Windows, and especially Vista, so here I am. It's truly a learning curve, but one I'm happily making. I'm sure I'll spend plenty of night fuming over a confusing problem that eventually turns out to be relatively simple, and I'm sure you'll all eventually get sick and tired of me, but I do promise I'll exhaust all resources and search Google for an hour or more before making an *** of myself

Anyway, this is me, good to meet you all (I hope).

sure, this reminds one of my experience in my early days with Fedora core2 - trying to install packages for days without setting correct permission (chmod +x filename). LOL

    Welcome in!

Hi Pinske! You have landed in a great place here, and imho you have chosen the best OS in Linux. As time goes on and you start seeing the elegance of this OS - the smiles will come like "...wow - what a simple way to do that..." - and you will be totally hooked! That is when the bill will come

LOL - Just kidding - free forever!

Have fun - see you around...

Ha ha, thank you all for the warm welcome, it would apear I've landed some place good indeed. I'll keep updates as to how well I'm doing and what I've accomplished as of late. I'm sure it's already been said, and I'm going to google it, but if any one has some handy links off the top of their head for a debian "Walkthrough" or training video so to speak, that would be immeasurably helpful.
