    DSL to the rescue

I have been distro hopping, and can't seem to find a distro that recognizes my ancient laptops 1024x768 resolution and also fits in its 6 GB HD. Following a borked install of one that looked promising, I tried DSL. It cleaned out the mess from the failed install, and let me set the resolution I wanted, and fits nicely in the ram and Hd limitations of the old laptop. I might not leave it there, but for now, it is my hero. Thanks to all that recommended it.

DSL and Debian both do well with minimal (older) systems. Glad you found something that works for you. Enjoy!
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
