A general introduction to Linux
Hi everyone
I have been using Linux (Kubuntu since 7.04) for a couple of years now. I am not a novice, though I cannot claim mastership of Linux. Because of the socialisation a Linux user is being put through I would like to contribute to the community. Initially I tried with Kubuntu, but for several reasons my attempts was in vain. First of all I was met with a wall of "I do not know with whom you should talk" when I asked about how I could work on the Wiki (I beg your pardon if you are an administrator of Kubuntu website). Second I constantly ran into the Ubuntu website. For some time I moaned and felt despair. Because of this I thought that perhaps what I really wanted was to create a website that could give people a good introduction and guidance to Linux. I post this post here, because I hope there is other people out there that would like to do the same. We could team up and try to do something. It will not be the first time I have worked with a website from a distance. Currently I am an intern on a political website called openDemocracy.
The reason why I want to create yet another website is because those out there are fine but do not fulfil the needs I have had. For example the website could be a Wiki with different entrances such as kind of user, programs, how to manoeuvre, prejudices etc. utilising the many videos that exists on the net. Perhaps also walkthroughs regarding the web and linux. Finally I would like to doom the idea that games are not available on the platform. A thorough tested guide should be made available with both commercial as well as open games.
This is my ideas. I hope to hear from someone. Either write here, or my email kimandersen84(a)gmail.com or Skype kimandersen84
