Surely there has to be a better way to pick a world cup winner than this... I can't help feeling that it'd be much fairer if, say, the teams were to compete in some kind of football tournament, maybe play matches against each other, or something like that?

Netherlands reached the finals. Netherlands played very well against Brazil too.Now I guess it will be Netherlands Vs Germany . Germany played extremely well against Argentina in their last match !

To tell you the truth, I never watch football normally. But the atmosphere here is completely over the top for weeks now. Everything is orange, has been for weeks. Everything is about the World Cup. During a match Netherlands plays, ALL people are dressed in orange. You get excited, whether you want to or not.

I was in Germany two weeks ago. They had decorations there, but not as much as here in the Netherlands. Entire streets are made orange. It's madness.

Well, if you see how much money and business interest is involved in football, you'd see it's neither a game or a sport but a marketing machine. Some smart people are making lots of money

And cricket, it's almost unheard off here. Just sometimes when switching channels you see it on an English channel. And if you don't know the rules it looks a bit like this (satire)

And I also agree: Germany will win the championchip. May people here in Germany now believe this. And if we defeat Spain tonight. Müller will play in the final again and will make the Netherland 2 "gifts".

Too bad that Germany lost though. Germany - Netherlands would've unleashed a lot more of emotions, both in Germany as in the Netherlands.
