    Hello, New Linux User :)

    Hello,
I am happy to join this Linux Community. I am very new to Linux. However I want to get into it which is why I joined the forum so I can do research and learn. I have a machine which I run virtualization on which is installed/hosted on my primary platform which is Microsoft Windows 7. I have already installed Linux Ubuntu 10.04, Fedora 13, and OpenSuse. Ubuntu seems to be the easiest to use so I have turned off the other two and have started exploring Ubuntu, it was even recommended for new people such as myself all over the internet. If you recommend any other linux's to install please feel free to say, i'll just download them and shove them into my VMware I'll appreciate any help/advice provided. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum. I came to linux the same way, reading about how easy Ubuntu was to use. You might want to go to distrowatch.com and browse the different offerings there. On the right side of the page are their top 100, but they have many more you can reach by clicking on the filter option and scrolling through the entire list. Have fun exploring!

    Hello and Welcome B1ackhawk!

You have introduced yourself as a "new linux user" but I can see that you are not totally new to the world of computers.

We are glad you decided to join the forums.

Regarding different linux distros, since you already are enjoying ubuntu, you might want to give Mint a try. Its actually an ubunut based distro. Some gurus prefer to call it ubuntu plus, which I tend to agree. Light to the touch, stable as its mother distro.

    Mint Isadora +1 to Nujini.

I started with Ubuntu for my kids, then Xubuntu, then Mint Isadora. I moved on to Mint Isadora LXDE and Peppermint One. I'm still waiting on Mint Isadora Xfce. I probably have something in the neighborhood of 10 Live CDs and 1 Live USB (Peppermint)

    Enjoy,
    GNU/ Linux, they are aplenty.

I down loaded the new Mint LXDE last night at home, but work turned crazy today, so haven't had a chance to try it on the laptop. Still haven't given up on AntiX either.
