You can find Peppermint OS at:
peppermintos(dot)com. (Still under 15 Posts although the counter doesn't seem to be functioning properly)
Take a peek, and see if it might suit your fancy.
Best thing is that it is under 512MB and it uses the LXDE DE (Desktop Environment). It uses cloud computing (Internet Based Applications) so no need to install any additional software unless you want to.
The Dev, Kendall, is a Maintainer for Linux Mint LXDE and Mint OpenBox(Ubuntu/ Debian Base). It also gives you access to Ubuntu and Mint Repositories (Both of Which have Bible Software and comes preinstalled with minimal games similar to what you are looking for) and it has a light GUI.
It uses Firefox as the Web Browser, and uses Prism to access Web Based Applications as if they were installed locally.
Try the Live Distro, and see if you like it.
Have Fun,

Thanks, I've burned about 30 or 40 live cd's, Peppermint was one of them. Don't remember right now why I didn't try to install it. I liked the looks though. What I realy need to do is put a bigger HD in, but I keep thinking there is no point in spending money on an old computer like this. Funny thing is, it was the new HP that gave up the ghost after the warranty ran out.

That appears to be pretty common nowadays.
FYI,
I just bought a 1TB External Hard Drive at Walley World for under $100. It plugs in to a USB Port.
I dual boot Windows 7 and Linux Mint Isadora. When I went to install Isadora, it showed up, and offered me, automatically with no partitioning, 500 GB of the External. (Seagate 1TB).
Even an internal Western Digital 160GB can be purchased from NewEgg for about $50. That was an IDE Drive that I put into my Dad's P3. He still uses XP, but he will make the switch to GNU/ Linux next time around.
Hard Drives are quite a bit cheaper than they used to be, if you should go that direction.
Give Peppermint OS a good run. I think you may very well enjoy using it. I do.

Even notebook drives are cheap today, but I keep thinking "It's an 11 year old notebook I'm going to replace soon. Why put anymore money in it?" At P3 500/384 ram/6GB HD, it has pretty much reached the end of what it can be used for (a word processor/web surfing tool/simple game player) that I leave at work and don't worry about it being stolen (absolutely no personal data on it, unless you include my sermons). I have Ubuntu on my desktop, PCLinuxOS on the back up desktop I let my grandkids play on, will probably put one of those on my wifes computer and new laptop when I get it.

I think I better understand now.
Thanks for the Conversation. I enjoyed it.

I've enjoyed it too.
To tell the truth, I have learned more (still don't know much) about linux from wrestling with the old laptop, than in installing on my newer machines.
