    MenuetOS

It's really a toy but is an interesting example of what can be done if you are completely mad! If development continues, it might not be a toy for long!

A full (and very pretty) gui with various tools including a dvd player and web browser in an operating system that fits on a single floppy disk!

I have been giving it a look see in Virtual Box and it's gob-smacking what they have done. I am glad there are nutters in this world.

    Keep it up guys

If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Looks interesting, but I'm not sure how I (a newbie) would benefit from it.

It's not currently that useful for anything but the most basic requirements, but is interesting to see just how much can be put into a floppy disk (1.44mb) image.

It's worth setting up in a VM just for that!

My old laptop has a floppy, and the older computer I use at work for internet connection has one, but not many computers have a floppy anymore, do they? If I read the site right, it isn't live bootable either. Now if they can continue to develope, and put it on a live USB key or live mini cd, it might get real interesting. Of course, I may be misunderstanding their target user group. If they are developing for underdeveloped countries where older equipment may be more common, then they are on the right track.

It will boot from the floppy OK. Certainly the VM does.

From what I understand (and I may be wrong) it's more a "let's see what we can do" project

Perhaps it's from downloading and copying the file on a windows machine, then sneaker netting to the linux only laptop, but it wouldn't live boot for me. I received a "non-system disk, please replace and try again" message.
The screen shots and info on the website looks good, hope they pursue this project.
