Certificacions on Unix and Linux
hi there
I will study the Linux LPI certification in a few months
What do u think about it?
Is this certification good enough to work with solaris too actually? I´m not sure because i think is more oriented to linux, and solaris as far as i know, is based on UNix.
What else can i study, of programing for example, that will help me a lot in my work? im studying the system administrator part, and i come from microsoft world, which im tired of a lot of things and want to try this different "free minds world"
Thanks in advanced

I think that's great! I am also considering taking up serious study for certification. But not quite sure as of the moment.I will study the Linux LPI certification in a few months

I'm not really sure about this. Its always a good rule of thumb, IMHO, to know what you are getting into before making the first few steps. Try googling or even asking this particular concern in a solaris forums, I suggest. Is this certification good enough to work with solaris too actually? The safest way, I believe is to play around with linux for a while. Get to know it better and after a few months or so, i'm pretty sure you would know more or less what in particular do you want to specialize in, so to speak. And then you can consider pursuing it.
Just a suggestion
Happy hunting!
