    Firefox and Adobe?

Hi all! I have to use windoze for poker (so far anyway) and lately firefox has updated twice, and both times a big warning comes to update flash. I understand that flash has had some security issues so i popped right over for the flash update, which of course has the option to try out some bloatware antivirus. It is checked by default, so i always uncheck it and ask just for the upgrade...and it always fails.

Is this coincidence or just another way to scare people into getting another piece of junk on their system? I have had this happen on two FF updates in a row, and both times adobe update just heads south. Between this and the Linux 64 bit fiasco, I, for one, will be happy as hell to see flash go away! I have been using chrome instead of FF on doze since this started, but not happy going with the "evil" google.

finally - hw to brag about - but next year it will look pitifully quaint:

I've noticed the McAffee trial option (which is of course enabled by default) on the Flash updates too, and although annoying, it's not without precedent. I've installed other free programs (both OSS and non-OSS) which try to add Ask.Com and Yahoo toolbars to your browser. I'm not saying it's a good thing, but it's not exactly unique to Adobe.

    Thanks for the reply!

Didn't mean to imply uniqueness, but rather that there may be some connection between deselecting the trial offer and success at getting the update. The update dl always hangs when i deselect the trial.

Also not implying evil intent ... could just be a bug...

Ah, well... hmm.. Come to think of it I've never successfully upgraded using their little website tool either. I always have to download the installer manually.
