I am currently the only IT manager in a small company of 60 workers.
All the servers are linux based and clients very as of user needs.
I made a huge change in my life as up till 2 years ago i worked for Microsoft R&D Israel as a lab IT manager

As a former newbie admin of both MS and Linux servers and workstations, I can tell you that you will get A LOT MORE friendly, helpful (and free) help and support for the Linux issues you encounter than is available for MS troubles.

One of the great things about open-source/free software is that the expertise and help is also free and plentiful.

If googling doesn't get you the answer, just search the forums. If that doesn't get you what you need post (but spend a little time reading other posts to learn how to give useful details, that will save a lot of time.)
