For Linux development you also want to get up to speed on C, C++, and Java software development (check out the Eclipse software development environment), as well as various scripting languages such as bash shell programming, perl, python, awk, sed, and all the other great tools in the linux/GNU tool box.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Most Linux applications are written in C, C++, and Java, with a good measure of Bash, Perl, and Python scripting thrown in for good measure. Now I'm quite anxious to move in to linux development.Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
