Hello from Montana
I have been wanting to build me a linux box since before red hat departed so i have been familiar with it for quite some time. Last month i finally got tired of all of the problems i was having with My Windblows machine so it got wiped and I installed Opensuse 11.3 and have been figuring that out. I have written a couple if things in windows but i already prefer Linux. so if i ask some really dumb questions please humor
me.

Hi mate, just replied to your post for help with wine. LOL No worries regarding silly questions, we're all here to learn... so long as you give us all the info we need to help you. :o) Your post re. wine was a little light on the details.
See you around... trust you'll enjoy Suse - good solid distro.Respectfully... Sarlac II

The moving clock K' appears to K to run slow by the factor (1-v^2/c^2)^(1/2).
This is the phenomenon of time dilation.
The faster you run, the younger you look, to everyone but yourself.

Hiya and welcome!
I'm a newbie myself (registered yesterday) but I'm already loving these forums here. Not only are the people here knowledgeable, but also very friendly. From my experience, that's a rather rare combination.

I've run Suse in the past - spent quite a while with 10.x installed on my old workstation. I've been running CentOS (RHEL) 5 on my new workstation (not so new now) for the past 2 1/2 years, and have really been liking it a lot. For desktop and server stuff, it has been incredibly reliable and has good performance. My only gripe is that it doesn't handle bluetooth devices very well - the number of devices the bt drivers support is limited. The same bt equipment I tried on CentOS works out-of-the-box with Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop. Oh well, I guess I can't have (even if I want) everything!
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
