DistroWatch.com: Put the fun back into computing. Use Linux, BSD.
Up to #61 already!
It's amazing that it would climb so quickly based only on RC releases.oz

Now at 57. When the final comes out, it may jump into the top 10!

I've run CRUX with IceWM for years but recently have used OpenBox on a couple of EEEs. I may even use just OpenBox on 2.7 and see how it goes without IceWM for a bit. I have some GTK and QT libraries but really no Gnome or KDE. Not using either cuts way down on compile times.

It seems to be all over the place, and is now sitting in the #88 spot. Guess it will take another RC release or the official release to move it back up the ladder.

On a sort-of-kind-of-related note, I see there is an Arch spinoff called ArchBang that touts itself as a minimalist distro with OpenBox as the default desktop like CRUX.

Yes, I saw that when they announced the new release at DistroWatch earlier today. There still seems to be a severe shortage of ready to go 64-bit packages, though, or at least I haven't had much luck finding very many. I might play with it some when I get some spare time.
Edit: looking back at the previous posts in this thread, that actually looks like the same thing you linked to in post #52 above, but this is now apparently the final release instead of the release candidate that it was back then.
Just guessing, but I'm thinking that you might be doing an install right about now!

Downloading now...
I might not get to it for a few days, but I'm looking forward to this!
