I used to belong to a local computer group that meets every week. They are all Windows users (as I was at the time) but someone suggested that one of us should try Linux just to see how it compared. I was volunteered for the job because I had worked on mainframe computers and wasn't afraid of using command line tools.
Of course I fell in love and practically stopped using Windows. Result:
1) Meetings became a bore because everyone was talking about a system I didn't use.
2) I couldn't help anyone with their problems because I had become too rusty.
Add in the fact that I had no car, the guy who used to give me lifts had left, and I had just acquired a small dog who needed to be taken out around 10 pm, and I just stopped going altogether.
Boo hoo! Linux ruined my social life!

Sounds like an excellant time to start a Linux users group in your home.
