    Tux get's a monument.

    In Russia, city Tyumen, local activists are planning to build a monument for Tux and are already collecting donations, so far approximetly 38000 RUR is collected (1200 USD) from required 100 000 RUR (3250 USD)

    On sketches the monument look's something like this.

    What is supposed to be the message of Tux with strap on wings? Can't say as I think much of the design, but if that's what they want, it's their monument.

    Authors of this project say that wings, symbolize the independence and endless possibilities of free software.

    Seems like a bird that doesn't fly, but swims amazingly fast in the water, and that exists in the cold instead of migrating south for the winter, symbolizes the amazing possibilities and diversity of linux already.
