The Colony: Any fans here?
Anyone watch this show? It's on Discovery channel
The Colony : Discovery Channel
It's a pretty good show. I have seen every episode and I have the season finale recorded but I don't want to watch it because that will mean that it's over!
Okay, I'm off to watch the last episode now!

Me and the wife caught on to it this season... I never heard about it last year, but we liked it.
And I felt the same way when I watched the final show.
Very enjoyable. And a little different from the normal stuff that's on nowadays.Jay

No, I've never seen it, but from looking at the web page it appears to be a reality show of sorts, perhaps similar in some ways to Survivor, but this looks like it's not so much a game, or contest.

It's a 'reality' show... what would happen if a world-wide calamity occurred?
No prizes, nobody is voted off.
Think 'Gilligan's island'... seriously amped up.Jay

LOL, and minus Gilligan with all his hijinks.
They do get kidnapped, beaten, robbed, pepper sprayed, starved, etc, etc but no votes were harmed in the making of this show. I do hope they got paid for their 50 days though.
How did you like the ending Jay? That was messed up!
EDIT: I think that Jim fella, kinda lost it there for a little while...out in the bushes eating headless Lizards, waiting for the VOPA people!I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

LOL!
No Gilligan, and (sigh) no MaryAnne!
Jim was cool, though. And he straight up stalked the lizard on that plant! But you could tell the man was hungry.
Let one of us lose 35 pounds in 50 days... I might eat the Geico Gecko, too!
And the ending... I sorta felt bad for the crew. No good at all!Jay

LOL @ Geico Gecko...I'll look at him in a whole new light now.
I read a post on discovery/colony website the other day that made sense about the ending and why they think it ended that way. In a post apocalyptic world the "battle" would never end. You just have to keep on keeping on! *spoiler alert within the bottom link*
The fans are angry and confused, Discovery!! - Topic Powered by Social StrataThey ended the show that way to show that if it were a real life situation the battle doesn't end. There is no exit. I really like the ending.
There is a lot of Angry fans on that site....concerning the ending.Last edited by MikeTbob; 10-02-2010 at 06:43 PM. Reason: Added spoiler alert

Don't know about this one, but many of the reality shows are strange the way they generally don't seem all that interesting until you actually sit down and watch a few episodes, getting to know and understand the characters, then you are suddenly hooked. That happened to me with Survivor early on and it took a while to break out of the habit of watching. Glad you guys found one that you really like.

So that was the only the season finale, or was it the series finale?oz
