I'm so ready for all the good food that comes with the Thanksgiving holidays...yummy, I can't wait.
One year, we tried baking a duck, boy those things are very very greasy....but delicious.
    Happy Thanksgiving.

I have a feeling there are lots of turkeys that are not going to be very happy this Thanksgiving, but Happy Thanksgiving Day to to everyone else!

We're vegetarians, so turkeys are safe at our house! Anyway, we're having enmoladas - enchiladas with Oaxacan mole sauce - a spicy mixture of chocolate, about a dozen varieties of chili peppers, nuts, and various secret ingredients (spices). That, a big bowl of guacamole, salad, picaditas (little tostadas w/ beans, cheese, tomatoes, and Veracruz chile seco salsa), Oaxacan black bean soup, and I'm still deciding on what to have for desert. Did I say that I am cooking this feast? Then, we head up to Wisconsin for a weekend of dancing, jammin', and lots of whiskey. It's called Breaking Up Thanksgiving, and a load of Chicago area musicians and dancers gather every year for this. It's a good way to deal with Thanksgiving left-overs!

That sounds really good, Rubberman! The wife and I are becoming more vegetarian oriented all the time, ourselves, and she more so than me. I still have a little meat about once a week, but she goes for months without any.

Enjoy your fiesta and then the B-U-T in Wisconsin!

You have a great time to Ozar! FWIW, I always like to point out that a meat eater can have dinner at a vegetarian's, and not suffer too much. Unfortunately, it doesn't work the other way around! Whenever we get invited to dinner and the people may not know us all that well, we have to remember to mention the dietary thing to them. It's amazing how people will bend over backward to accomodate us! What some find interesting is that we can eat very well at a steak house! We will order a stuffed baked potato or pasta, veges, a salad - and we're happy!

I'm a big fan of Thanksgiving. Anything that involves turkey, dressing, and pumkin pie is a winner in my book. Unlike most people that complain about thanksgiving left overs, I complain that there isn't enough left over.

We never have a problem with leftovers. We always travel to the in-laws for Turkey day and usually get sent home with full bellies and several plates of leftovers. Just the way I like it. DANG. Is it Thanksgiving yet?

When we go elsewhere for TG, I usually refuse to take home any leftovers because I've already made myself sick from overeating. When we host TG at our house, I usually insist that everyone takes home some leftovers because I've already made myself sick from overeating.
