Hello and welcome, I hope you will enjoy your GNU/Linux experience. It is NOT always a smooth ride, but it is rewarding (well, at least for me).
Best regards,

Howdy and welcome from a full time Linux user. The ride gets smoother with practice. Skating requires a few falls before one can "Shoot the Duck"

Welcome to the forums. I'm an Ubuntu fan also, but if you get board and want to experiment, go to distrowatch.com and check out some of the different distro's available. Have fun!

Welcome! I flipped from Windoze about three years ago and landed in Ubuntu 7.10. I now have one 'puter running unbutu 10.10 and the other on opensuse 11.3. You're really going to be pleased with the available software on this end of operating systems.

Welcome aboard! I hopped on board full time about Ubuntu 8.04 and have never looked back. I hope you have a great time with it and as someone on one of these forums once told me. "The difference between a good linux user and a great linux user is google." Hope you enjoy.

Hi
The linux community is diverse and there is a distro to suit all applications, 70% of the servers in the world are linux, most of the super computers, many mission critical application and many embedded apps. It gives a greater degree of control over your I.T. environment and although the learning curve can be steep, the view from the top is great and the ride is exhillerating.
