I agree. I'm not really into gangster flicks, but I really enjoyed this one....

I watched Up in the Air yesterday and found it to be much better than expected:

Up in the Air (2009) - IMDb

Note that the movie had quite a bit of sadness in it, so it might not be the movie for some of you.

I'd never seen her in anything before, but the petite Anna Kendrick was really spectacular in her role and I suspect that she's going to continue to do well in Hollywood.

If you watched all three of them, then that is really an all day undertaking! Especially if you have the extended cuts!

    By the way... Welcome aboard!

    Just watched two movies...

First up was Transformers: Dark of the Moon:

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) - IMDb

I didn't like it at all, as was the case with the 2nd Transformers movie. The first Transformers movie was pretty good, though. On a scale of 10, I'm giving the third film a 4.5 score.

Next up was Xmen: First Class:

    X-Men: First Class (2011) - IMDb

I liked this movie and all the previous Xmen movies.

Giving this film a 7 out of 10 score.

A old gem of a Russian movie from 1979 (comes with English subtitles) . The Director also made Solaris. It is a long movie but is made and shot real well. More of a intellectual scifi movie than shoot em up and blow em up..

    The Stalker

and another oldy but goody I like is (French film with English subtitles with Ron Perlman who I did not know speaks French fluently)

    City of Lost Children

This one is made real well also with lot's of eye candy like Pans Labyrinth.. You need to watch both movies more than once because reading the subtitles on both will leave you missing nice shots.

I picked up a $6.00 DVD containing 4 Clint Eastwood movies, play misty for me, the beguiled, the eiger sanction, and coogan's bluff. I watched Coogan's Bluff last night because I had never seen it and it alone was worth the price of the DVD. The Beguiled takes place during the American Civil War and I'll get to that next.
