    New Junior Sys Admin

    Hi everyone,
My name is Josh and in 2 weeks I start a new job as a junior systems administrator..... Any helpful tips or tricks or priority list recomendations would be helpful.
It's a smaller company up to about 50 employees and I am trying to be prepared as I have never done this before! ( except on my centos-fedora-ubuntu partitioned setup at home!) I have bookmarked a few websites with "top 20 lists" ect... But wanted to reach out here too.
Have a great new year !
    Josh

One thing I would suggest is to always make a backup copy of any file you are going to edit before hand. Any configuration file I am going to edit I make a back in the following format:

    <filename>.<date><time>

    It looks like this:

    fstab.201101022301

That way your foobar something you can fall back.

    Regards
    Robert
