    VPN + Cell Phones

I have a new cell phone that allows me to set up a VPN....but I don't know enough about VPN or what it would be used for. I know that it's for virtual private networks but what would be the benefits to a normal desktop/cell phone user? What can I do with VPN and my cell phone?

Well, say you have a resource in your office network, that you dont want to expose to the internet.
But occasionally it would be good to have access without being in the office:
On a business trip, hotel, train travel,..
Then a cellphone with vpn is handy.

Such a resource may be a internal website.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.

Thanks for the input, I thought it might be something along those lines.
