Hello
Not certain that this is the merger that you are referring to, but in December 2005, Linuxforums.com merged with Linuxforums.org (the much larger forum) after the owner of Linuxforums.com purchased the Linuxforums.org website and domain.
I'm fairly certain that all Linuxforums.com members were merged into this forum at that same point in time.
You can check the Member List for the forums that should list both active and inactive members. Note, however, that it will not list any members that have been banned for any reason.oz

Also, last year (or was it the year before?) Linux.com was bought out by The Linux Foundation (linuxfoundation.org) which manages the Linux kernel (and pays Linus T. his salary). I used to post there a lot until the merger. There were a number of months when the linux.com forums were in hiatus. They are back now, but without anything near the traffic. In any case, that was why I moved over here.
