enrjocky!
Welcome to Linux forums. Glad to know you also are enjoying being part of the open source community.
I'm still trying to learn how to survive in a totally Windows free world. Many of the senior members here have already achieved this. Meanwhile, i'm still doing the "using the best tool for the job approach.
All the best,

I moved as completely as I could to Linux and open source software over 3 years ago. There is one program that I have to run that is Windows only (won't work in Wine) so I run that in a virtual machine. I have not regretted cutting the cord to Microsoft one bit! I used QNX, Unix, and Linux systems for most of my development work for many years, but my business front-end and laptop was still Windows until the beginning of 2008. No more Microsoft (or Apple) tax for me! Productivity-wise? No real difference as far as I can tell, other than my systems are far more stable, I don't get viruses any longer, I don't have to suffer the performance impact of Windows virus scanners, and I don't have to budget for the periodic deprecation of my operating system, other than the time to migrate to a major new release, like I did recently from CentOS 5 to Scientific Linux 6.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
