    RE: eNews March 2-4 Edition

Hi all! Anybody still have the LinuxForums eNews edition(s) from March 2-4, 2011??
Got mine in email and deleted by mistake! Need reference/link to article about a webblog/CMS publishing platform that name starts w/ 'Z' (forget other letters; not sure). Anyway, the intro blurb looked interesting, and I wanna check it out. TIA for any assistance. Did look on site here, but see no other link/reference to same.

I should have it still in my gmail trash box. I'll dig it out and send it to you.

Ok. I looked at all the forums enews newsletters from March 1-4 and didn't see any links to articles about webblogs or CMS publishing platforms. Are you sure about the date(s)?

Yes, fairly certain it was in an issue I opened up from Friday. OK, give or take, say
48 hrs. either way I guess. Might have sat in my inbox for a couple days? If memory serves, it was a link w/(bolded) description as always, which required a <click> to follow-up (I think to left of page). I already (will do again) checked a similar email notice from Linux Journal that I also receive. Oh well.....Maybe will come in again; many of these repeat over several issues, you know. Thanks for looking!!

I still have links back into February. I'll look a couple of days back-and-forth...

I'm here, and thanks again! Soooo need to get a site up, but I'm *not* a coder.
All of these systems advertise about low learning curve, etc. But I don't want to spend *any* time learning Xhtml, HTML, CSS and such. I only want to concentrate on content! Looking for something that allows this, ahs good, clean 'magazine' style templates, and more importantly security-security-security!!
IOW, something as simple to use as lined, 3-hole notebook paper but with a nice face and max control thrown in. Been looking around/reviewing this stuff for about 5 yrs. now. In the available landscape, most systems are platforms which allow a soap box for the coders to shout: 'Hey, look at me I know <fill-in-blank> code/system. I could describe it in more detail, but then somebody would have to write it----wordpress, drupal, etc.....it doesn't exist!! Oh well..!

Is this what you were looking for? Tiny blogs: When WordPress is too damn big - CLICK

The enews entry (from Feb.25) was:
Tiny blogs: When WordPress is too damn big
Source: LXer Linux News - February 25th, 2011
I've been investigating tiny blog software — mini CMSes if you will (or even if you won't). I already have a blog running on Flatpress. I'm trying to use systems that are simple, radically small and efficient. To that end, I'm anxious to look into Blosxom, PyBlosxom, NanoBlogger and Ode.
which is as close as I could find to what you were talking about...

Hey man, thanks bunch. No, it's not the one, but I need to look into these as well, 'cause they're said to be compact and simple. *But* methinks it still won't do, here's why: <quote>Here's what creator Rob Reed says about Ode:

" It's a new platform for creating weblogs (and other types of dynamic sites) which emphasizes simplicity, both in terms of usability and design. The idea is that anyone who is interested should be able to understand how the program works at the source code level."

Just read this a few mins ago...as you sent it. The last sentence gives it away: why should anyone need to understand "...at the source level." to use this dang stuff??!! I don't know about the 'source' of a doggone refrigerator, but I can surely keep it plugged into a steadly, reliable power source, and keep it clean inside & out. See what I mean, these coders miss the point of 'simple'. If my blog system is anymore difrficult/involved in using/posting content than, say, a 3-hole lined paper, 'frigerator magnets (multiple colors avail., thank-you), and a fridge itself then its for 'engineers' (software) not authors!! Authors write *content*, they don't build the structure they sit in whilst writing ---- or is that *I'm* the one not gettin' it??!
thanks again. 'Tux community is *Great!!* wouldn't go back to MS$ for all the tea in china......
