My understanding is that Roku is MORE than just Linux - it's Linux PLUS a hardware/firmware solution embedded in an ASIC or other means. So that even if you got a Roku box and replicated every bit of linux code you stiill wouldn't have it without also having the 'missing link' that's in their hardware/firmware.
