I used to, but I get so many engineering journals that I am overloaded with reading material. I am an IEEE Computer and Communication Society member so I get IEEE Spectrum, IEEE Computer, IEEE Communications, along with Dr. Dobbs, eWeek, Infoworld, Embedded Systems Journal, NetworkWorld, ComputerWorld, EDN, EETimes, and others - as many in PDF format as I can, since my mailbox (physical one) won't hold all that paper, and I don't want to kill so many trees! Most of the Linux journals can be accessed online, or give you the option to subscribe to email news, which pretty much will cover most developments in the field. FWIW, since I also used to do development in the stock/options trading industry (risk analysis), I get a couple of technical e-publications in that field as well.

Crikey! How do you find time to do anything other than read? I have enough trouble fitting in Linux Format. It was easier when my journey to work involved public transport.
Anyway for a physical magazine, Linux Format is a very easy read and generally gives good introductions to a wide variety of subjects. Another one is Liunux Magazine. This one tends to be a bit more advanced and covers things in greater detail. If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

1. Speed read.
2. Scan for articles I am interested in.
3. Speed read those found in #2 unless I find them really interesting or relevant.
4. Some I just file as PDFs on my storage array for future perusal, when I have a minute or two.
These days, I am getting more of my technical news over the internet as email newsletters from various publications. In-depth articles of a highly technical nature are where I spend most of my reading time in the actual publications.Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
