Linux Virtual Dedicated Server
I am panicking a little. I may have to very shortly switch over my GoDaddy accounts to their Linux Virtual Dedicated Server due to the volume of hits and emails. I can pay to have them move my accounts over to a dedicated server and will do so. After that though this is a whole new ball game for me. Will I still be able to use Filezilla to upload web pages? Do I have to sign in a different way? I am worried that I will get my accounts moved to the server then someone will call and want a page changed or added quickly and I will have no clue how to do this. Is there a dashboard program I will need to know about. Unfortunately I won't have much notice. If someone knows of a tutorial or a place to start me off it would be helpful. I am a design peep not a server peep so I am stressing out about what I don't know to ask.
Thank you in advance for any help, articles, thoughts, links

No need to panic -- despite what some sensationalist reporter in a computer mag said recently, I find GoDaddy support to be quite good if not excellent (I always go to Tech Support, no matter what). I went to their site and came up with this tutorial introduction, to begin asking them the questions that are bothering you:
How do I get help with my dedicated server? - Search the Go Daddy Help Center
If you then need additional help, please come back here.

When I just looked at GoDaddy Virtual Dedicated Servers, I see that they offer FTP access, so yes, you should still be able to use Filezilla to upload files. They also offer a free simple control panel that should allow you to configure most things.
If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)
My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Thank you! I appreciate that. The sales person only said it was a new world and I would probably be lost, and they don't give help unless I pay $129 more a month. I will go see if I can find a screen shot of the control panel some where. You gave me some courage back. Cindy

Proper Bandwidth
I am going where I have never been before
. To a Godaddy dedicated server. Because I will be experiencing an increase in viewers - approximately up to 1500 to 2000 a day in various months and most of those viewers will be completing a form to be forwarded to my PC. What type of bandwidth is most appropriate for that volume? Does the dedicated server/bandwidth ie data transfer also mean that my email is expanded to accept that many emails or is that a totally different problem? Will I need to adjust bandwidth or data transfer on the receiving PC of the emails? Thank you I am trying to make this transition as smooth as possible so I do not lose anyone's form information nor lose access to my website from too many viewers.
With little experience with this volume I appreciate any suggestions or help.

As Zenwalker said, always go to Tech Support for answers. Sales support is there to help sell you more stuff that you don't really need. After all, that IS their job!
I use GD for my domain registrations, and they have always been helpful when I needed answers or information.

Comment to Elija and his signature "I am now a Linux Guru which I feel insults the real Gurus on here!":
Elija, you have proven yourself on many more than one occasion. I think what makes a Linux Guru (I'm a bit embarrassed by that "title" as well), is the willingness to research answers for questions, even if you don't know them off the top of your head. You learn, others learn, and even once in a great while, I learn! In this regard, you rock!Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

Thanks everyone, I did read the GODaddy server instructions and feel comfortable with the basics of the control panel. I also now feel comfortable that if there is something I am unfamiliar with and tech support doesn't work I can come back here and get redirected. Thank you all
