    That will never happen, unless perhaps some law is passed requiring all computer operating systems to work on some form of the Linux kernel.

    I'll bet a lot of you didn't know about this though: Xenix -- Microsoft's early foray into creating their own UNIX-like OS.

    This is why it is important to differentiate between UNIX and GNU Linux, UNIX is trademarked and is NOT free open-source software, whereas GNU is Not Unix.
