    Just registered
Hope i can share / using Ubuntu 10.10 dual boot with Win Xp. Have installed Ubuntu as default and I very rarely choose Windows for anything except for web design which I will discuss later in another area, but nice to be here.

Shame not doing Web development in the initial environment. The web started in Unix. The first browser to handle text and pictures on the same page was release on Jan 23, 1993 for Unix (X11) systems. And that browser is what popularized the WEB. The original IE was a light (skinning) of that code. The original authors of that browser fromed Netscape.

Welcome. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 as well. Love the Compiz effects! I got started because I wanted to get my Commodore 128 to go on line. I was able to get the Commodore to connect to Linux, and then through Linux to the Internet. I was using Red Hat and then Fedora back then. Ubuntu came along and unlike Fedora, everything just worked. I always had to configure things with Fedora.

Hey, that's pretty awesome. I have a Commodore 64 and I've always wondered about getting that old dog online... Just for kicks of course. I might need to look into that!

    RE: New bee

Lol, I was using Ubuntu too when i was new to Linux, but i now use Debian instead, because it's better !

You should try Debian, it's what Ubuntu is Made from. (I recommand the Testing repos.)
