I gave my old laptop to my grandson about 3 years ago when I got a new one, and it included two system drives - one with Windows, and the other with Ubuntu Linux. He used the Windows drive until one day he spilled a soda on the keyboard, and it let the drive's magic smoke out! Since he is a budding engineer, he took the case apart. Cleaned all the stuff up real well, but the drive was toast. So, he plugged in the Linux drive, fired it up, and never looked back! Now he's writing kernel device drivers...
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
