    Not so much an enthusiast, but they do hold a certain fascination for me.
    I like reading up on weapons of all sorts throughout history. And the flint lock style of guns are just cool!

    It would have been kind of scary to be involved in a dual with someone using one of those. Of course, if the other guy missed his target (me) or his pistol mis-fired it might not be so bad. Still kind of scary leading up to that point, though!

    And in those "Turn and Fire" affairs, how do you know the other guy won't pull a fast one and turn on 2!

    The rules of the duel were quite strict, and only "gentlemen" dueled. If a gentleman were to turn and fire on 2, he would no longer be considered a gentleman by his peers. The authorities might prosecute for murder also.
