    hello and brief intro

Hi all, I have used linux for a while now, starting with mandriva back in 2007. I did not like the RPMs so moved to Ubuntu and stayed with it until yesterday. The upgrade to 11.04 (about a week ago) turned out to be a bit of a disaster with stability declining rapidly. I decided to take the plunge and move to a more adventurous distro. My choice was Crunchbang, but I could not get the Nvidia working. Now I have wasted a day trying to install Lubuntu and Xubuntu 11.04s but those failed due garbled shell screen issues.

I am now trying to get Lubuntu 10.10 working so I can get back to my uni work and continue to look for a new distro that is perfect for my needs.

Welcome to the forum. My experience with 11.04 hasn't been good either, so will stick with 10.04 for its long term support.
