Yes, I've purchased a few through them. All my Stargate SG-1, and Stargate Atlantis DVDs (complete series of each) came from them.

I've purchased many things from Amazon.com but not their DVD's. Are you thinking of purchasing some Cousinlucky?

In the UK, they are very good indeed. I don't think they would be any less slick in the US.

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

I live on Staten Island and the only place to rent videos are from the Red Box machines at the supermarkets which is not to my liking. The only place to buy videos here is at the Best buy in the mall.

I have an account with Deep Discount DVD but they take forever to ship stuff. So I have to seek other venues.

I saw that Amazon streams movies but I only have dial-up and no flash player so that's out. I also need companies that still use the mail because UPS is extremely undependable on Staten Island for large apartment buildings.

The only complaint I have about Amazon is that their shipping can sometimes be slower than what I'd prefer, especially if you use the method they refer to as "Free Super Saver Shipping". I usually think of it as Super Slow shipping, but every now and then that same shipping method turns out to be fairly quick. They do have some very good prices on movies now and then, so it's well worth checking their website regularly for any movies you might be looking to purchase.

Why not netflix? for $8 a month you can download all the movies you want. Or Itunes? I bought an AppleTV this christmas and i like the rent video feature, each download takes about 2-3 hrs (I have only 1 Mbps, i usually do the download overnight), watch the movie and that is it, dont have to return anything, late fees or remember to rewind the dvd ..

PS: OOps, only read about the dialup untill after i posted , sorry. (waves hand)This is not the post you are looking for, carry on ..

I've purchased DVDs from Amazon.com without problems. I would think that the hard-copy service of Netflix would be suitable for you if you just want to rent movies at a reasonable cost. I assume it is still available - not everyone has a good broadband connection, as you mentioned Lucky.

There is a store clerk here and her son who have had problems with netfix billing. I'm at the point now that I do not want to go through the hassle of renting movies and then returning them.

I've never had any trouble with Netflix billing, but I have received a number of broken disks, and a lot of DVDs have apparently been lost in the mail before they get to me. Those kinds of things do tend to slow down how many DVDs you can view within your month of paid service.
