    Hey folks!

I found a way to get your subscribed threads to see just the ones that have new posts!
Top right of the page, there is a settings button.
It's a little slice of gold!

    Unanswered Threads

For those members that miss the Unanswered Threads link, here's a link that you can use until it gets inserted into the navigation bar running across the top of each page:

    Advanced Search - Linux Forums

If you use it very often, you might want to temporarily bookmark it.

This layout does not work as well as the other one did. Sometimes I have to click the log on multiple times before it finally responds. I'm an old grouch that does not like anything that changes for the worst. The old layout worked great after the bugs were fixed. I suppose there were good reasons in someone's mind to change it!! Like everyone else I'll have to get used to it; but it would have been nice if we were warned that it was coming!!

    Space at left (?)

Can't we use the space left in the right side of the posts frame?
The whole post area feels smaller IMHO.

I would guess that area is reserved for ad space since it is occupied my menus and ads at the top of the page.

One consequence of this is that many if not most of the posts in forums that often have code / data posted -- such as the programming / scripting forum -- are placed in horizontally scrolled windows. One advising source says:
Have you visited a website that has a web page width too wide for your monitor or browser window? You have to use the horizontal scroll to go back and forth reading and/or looking for information on the page. This makes reading the website very hard and can be very annoying if the website has some information the visitor is interested in.

-- excerpt from Web Page Mistakes
The critical width as of this date seems to be:

    Code:
             1 2 3 4 5 6 7
    1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890
which is narrower than a lot of posts.

It may look OK in the preview, but that seems wider than the real post in the forum (which would seem to make it not a preview), and the editing window is also painful ... cheers, drl

Try it without adblock on. If you have an empty space with adblock on, then you can pretty much bet that their is an ad there. Also, if you notice the layout being jumbled, that is also because you have adblock on, because ads take up about 50% of the area when that happens.

    Alright...makes sense.
And I think the 'remember me' button is still broken, eh?
