    LOL
I'll like it a lot more in a few days. Change always throws me for a loop but it keeps me on my toes.

I will when the left hand bar works

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

My main complaint, once they get the bar working, is that the contrast between the read and unread messages is awful close for my old eyes. I have to really stare at it to tell which ones I've read and which ones I haven't. It also seems to be quite a bit slower, but that may resolve once the bugs are out.

Well, I hate it. It looks slick but it's much more difficult to use. I had great difficulty logging in and it seems very slow. Mind you, I have a big build going on at the moment - I'll come back on this later when I've tried it out under more favorable conditions. But why change something that was working perfectly well before?

I think its pretty odd that we use a proprietary closed source commercial application for our forum

What are we running on IIS too??

This is a software version upgrade. My understanding is that there are certain bug fixes and new facilities that are very desirable that were otherwise unavailable. Those facilities should make it easier to keep the forums free of spam and unwanted bots. This should have a knock-on effect of making the forums quicker.

It's a shame you're not getting more out of your experience yet. I hope you grow to like it more as time passes. Personally, I think it's very pretty but functionally is not significantly different to what was in use before.

Another grudge! They've taken away the "unanswered questions" tab. That was really useful. I used to use it to ratchet up my post score, nipping in and answering questions before anyone else got around to them. That's how I became an engineer.

And the icons for seen and unseen posts look identical to me.

I can confirm that the server is running Apache. I'm not sure what operating system it uses, though...
