Howdy and Welcome. You should have the specs to run

Linux Mint "Debian" - Linux Mint Xfce 32-bit (201104) - Linux Mint

Though I don't run it (my distro may be too hard for you). I've heard good things about LMDE/XFCE

If wanting KDE Desktop. I like

MEPIS | A Linux operating system based on Debian Stable

Because of the helpful community and one on one help. Good folks there .

Slitaz probably runs fast on your rig. I take back the Mepis recommend just because your rig only has 500MB of Ram. You might get by with a 1.25 gig swap partition though with KDE 4 (crosses fingers)

This is what I run on 512MB of ram. But I am a mod there and don't want to show favoritism.

It flys though on my low spec gear though.
