    Gnome suggested to become it's own OS?

    As always, I do a quick search to make sure I am not about to post a duplicate thread and I didn't see anything.

    But this was an interesting article about suggestions to Gnome to become its own OS and drop support for BSD, Solaris, and Unix.

    Even if it isn't a rumor, I really wonder if it would even come to pass.

    Anythings possible, look at Google Chrome Os. On the other hand gnome is used by so many OS's, that I don't think they would abandon the rest of the linux community to go it alone.
