    Kelvin, I hope you try the move to Linux. You can download .iso files of Linux distributions from DistroWatch.com: Put the fun back into computing. Use Linux, BSD. free of charge. Burn them to a cd and you can try them out to find the one you feel most comfortable with.

    Before you partition your disk, you have to de-frag it. Windows loves to store segments of files all over your disk. Once you have a partition ready, the installations are generally straightforward.

    If you don't like one distribution, remove it and install another. Experiment, it's free.

    There is plenty of help on the forum if you get stuck. Just give as much detail as you can, so the problem can be isolated.
