To generate those package scripts synaptic manager should have the softwares in the list.... I doesn't... I should update it... That again required that i'm connected to internet...

I wanted gambas to be installed in my s/m... Its not in the list, by default...[check before you argue...
]....
Guys... These all happened to me 'coz i dnt have an ethernet card, and my modem vendor does not provide linux drivers [of course they do, but those are rpm packages, made for redhat].....

Gambas2 is in the universe repository. Whether that's enabled by default I don't know but in Synaptic go to Settings -> Repositories and you can check and enable it from there. You may be in catch 22 situation as you will need to update the repos from the Internet

It might be worth plonking Ubuntu and the make / model of your modem into Google to see if anyone else has got it going. Sometimes, you can even use the Windows drivers with a bit of faffing about.If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate! (Zapp Brannigan)

Got to see whether someone has come with a solution for me.. I believe no one did it till 2-3 months ago, since i wandered everywhere else i feels like in the net, for a solution.....
