Years ago, when I first started using the Internet I belonged to a few forums but I dropped out when they started to upset my stomach. I have a myspace page that I have not logged into in years, no twitter or facebook and the Ubuntu Network has fallen apart. I can't contribute much to LF but the people here have good sense about Linux and everything else.

The LF rules keep everything civil and the moderators do an excellent job!!

The only real purpose of all my social networking is SEO, hence I have many but spend only seconds or minutes daily or every several days. For efficiency reason my focus is on my one own site. That's plenty of work and enough for me.

it is easy to get lost or waste too much resources on social stuff. I use social networks while looking at my detailed site access stats to see from where site visitors are coming and how many.

The reason is, I have found few people (2 people to be precise ) from this forum using twitter/facebook - So I was thinking there might be more account there too, thought-about collecting them

I guess this would be the closest I come to social networking and I also spend time on the Mint forums / community site.

Facebook seems to be nothing more than a platform for corporations to try and convince you that they're your friend while continuing to attempt to suck all the money out of your pocket. And getting you do do their advertising for free.

I have no desire to read the self publicising thoughts of "celebrities" on twitter.

Google + seems to be nothing ore than another mechanism for Google to learn more about you.
