My settings don't need saving every time I turn off my computer!
My applications aren't conspiring against me to eat my processor or upgrade or register or complete surveys!

Welcome. Linux is indeed great.
I've been using it more or less exclusively for about four years now and never regretted it once (which is not the same as saying I've never had any , but there is plenty of help available if you know (learn) where to look).
