I tried installing it once a while back but ran into too many issues I had no clue as to how to resolve. If anything's changed, I'd try it again at some point.

I tried running in a virtual machine a while back and couldn't get it working. I think it sounds intriguing. I've come across a person or two that wants to use it over Linux in a development/testing environment because it will suit their needs better. Though I don't think it will ever replace Linux. I think when it's more stable/mature it will occupy a niche where it may be better than Linux. I think it's likely that you'll see people use Linux for some systems where it's the best option and Hurd in other systems where it's the best option.

I've never tried it. And, looking at the slow rate of development I don't see myself trying it any time soon.

Not to hijack the thread but I found a version of FreeDos from an old Dell N series I bought a while back. I may install that in a virtual machine and play around with it... I might give HURD another try. I've never gotten any form of BSD going so might try that too.

Never tried it, though Debian GNU/Hurd has been out for quite a while now. Personally I think alternative kernels are a good thing.

I think that I'm gonna try to test it and probably it could be used for education to learn how it works, etc.

If the GNUers can finally get it working, then it means GNU can finally be seen as a complete OS, with its own kernel, which is a good thing in my opinion.
