    Haze introduces himself

    Hello Everybody

I was searching for an English-language board to improve my English by using it (I'm from germany). Because I'm using linux it suggested itself to choose a linux / computer forum. The linuxforums.org forums seemed to be the only one I could found on google, only reviewing the first 2 pages

So, here I am. I'm 22 years old, I'm happy with debian since three years and run it on a Dell Studio 15". My job is "System-Admin" next to Munich, unfortunately without linux. I practice PHP, Python, Bash, C and mess around with Apache Web Server. My describtion would be "a medium-experienced-always-learning linux user".

I wish myself a good time here and look foward for many new experiences.

To catch my original goal, I'm happy about every corrected sentence you're sending me via pn.

Hello, man. I have a one friendly tip for you: do not use "pure" apache - it's terribly slow and, as you, in Germany, could say, "Speicherfresser", and you should use it only for dynamic content, really. Use instead so called "frontend-backend" stack - for example, nginx+fastCGI, or lighthttpd+apache. Also, take in notice the Tornado web server.

    Hi bisti

Thanks for your tip. I'm not using Apache in an professional / business manner. I took it to learn. It's just running on my local machine in combination with PHP. So I don't aim for a high performance server.

I like that. And don't worry about your English. It looks fine to me.

Greetings! Welcome to the forum. Your English is definitely better than my old high school Deutsch.
