Outdated (phpbb from 2007) and overrun by spam.
I would go so far to say, the site is deserted and someone forgot to turn off the light. You must always face the curtain with a bow.

I've seen that one before, but they are in no way related to the LinuxForums.org website.

You're right. I just tried looking in some of those forums. There's nothing there but pharmaceutical ads. Sad!

It's probably not that outdated - the latest phpBB has 2007 in the footer also.
You got that right... it's a wasteland with spam as far as the eye can see... it looks like it might have started up last year, but not sure, what is certain is that they had auto-pruning turned on so some forums are 40+ pages of 100% pure spam (the genuine threads probably "fell off the cliff into the void"). They were probably using the default captcha or no captcha at all. A horrible waste of a perfectly good site...
That's what spambots can do to a site without effective controls...

Yeah, according to some of the posts on that website, those forums were new just a year ago.
True... this website would be just like that one if we didn't work pretty much non-stop to keep it from happening.
Thanks to all members for reporting any and all spam threads/posts, and to the forum admins for working so hard to keep any spam removed from the forum!
