whats makes some software 'open source'?
is it that the source code of a completed product is available to be viewed or does it have to be developed with the source code viewable and contributable by all to be classed as open source.
for example are the versions of Android where anyone can download the source but it was developed in a closed way at Google, technically classed as open source?
