How to promote growth on the forums?
Well our forum has a lot of visitors all the time as you can tell, and it seems like a lot of the time its from people google searching their linux problems and the answer our discussion of the right answer is on our forums. This is great for our forum, but wouldn't it be great if those people who used our forums for answers decided to register, and contribute to help answer even more questions!
So does anyone have any idea how we could do this?

Short of being bought out by Google or a Major Linux player?? Nope, not many ideas. One way is to get the forums link inserted into more articles and other forums but that usually costs money.

I've thought about doing that before, but it would take some work and it would have to be updated a lot. It might need the owners permission also.

If memory serves, we had a facebook page at one time (and it might still be out there), but I don't recall it gathering much traffic at all. On the other hand, memory might not be serving today.

I think the best advise is to just keep doing what we're doing. Give fast, friendly, relevant help, with out sarcastic, bombastic comments to the poster. Good advice and kind words will bring in people.

How about organizing LF-Workshops, Seminars or Conventions.
It's gonna be a lot of work though

Word of mouth and page hits from Google search seem to be the top recruiters around these parts. I'd say Google search is are best friend.
